The Art of Marimba
A very particular evocative power the marimba cherished by directors and composers alike. Steve Reich, John Williams and Thomas Newman (American Beauty) have written magnificent scores featuring this hybrid instrument, whose origins lie in the African balafon and Pre-Columbian music. Drummer and virtuoso percussionist, Loïc Schild picks up his mallets and beckons us into the singular, subtle world of the marimba.
