A native of Barcelona, Manuel Delgado Martinez began flamenco guitar at an early age. Inevitably. he soon sets off for Andalusia, the birthplace of the flamenco tradition. He discovers  Grenada and then Seville where stayed for several years. Invited in 1988 to perform at the "First Paris Flamenco Guitar Festival " and instantly captivated by the musical breadth and diversity in the French capital, he decides to stay.

Turning to composition he quickly and naturally becomes guitar soloist, composer accompanying international stars of flamenco song and dance. The dancers include : Manuel Gutierrez, Juan Polvillo, La China, Antonio Reyes, Alejandra Gonzalez, Yasaray Rodriguez...  and the singers: Alberto Garcia, Cristo Cortés, José Cortès, Mencho Campos, Juan Murube ...

His own compositional path brings about the formation of his own group (the Manuel Delgado trio, quintet, sextet...) At once innovative and traditional where guitar, dance, voice, bass and percussion unite in a flamenco-concert-extravaganza.

Other collaborative projects have emerged, notably with artists from the Middle East and India : Kudsi Erguner (Turkey), Sonia M'Barek (Tunisia),  Issa (Kurdistan), Mohamed Zinelabidine (Tunisia), Keivan Chemirani (Iran), Omar Bashir (Iraq), Mr T.A.S Mani et Ramamani (India)...

Working with Ralf Siedhoff (world music guitarist and composer) and Ernest Martinez (percussionnist), he produced three  albums : "Azucena"(1998), "Crossing Roots" recorded in India (2000),  Soleado (2011), giving rise to the internationally acclaimed "SIN DISTANCIA Trio".

Manuel Delgado has also worked in theatre and cinema. (Théâtre du Soleil, Xavier Mestres, Claude Lelouch).
