Cape Verde - Traditions of the Fogo Island
The island of Fogo is a volcano to whose rhythm the islanders have lived their lives for five centuries. The songs and choirs are the fruit of a racial mix between Portuguese colonials and African slaves. Traditionally they are accompanied by guitars, cavaquinos and percussion.
